The short version

Files you process with FileWren tools never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser. We do not receive, store, scan or transmit your files — our servers only deliver the web pages themselves.

Your files

Every tool on this site works entirely client-side, using your browser's own capabilities (JavaScript, WebAssembly, the Canvas API). When you select a file, it is opened by code already running on your device. No upload takes place, and closing the tab removes anything the tool held in memory. We could not access your files even if we wanted to — the architecture doesn't allow it.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand which tools are used and how often. This does not use cookies and does not track you across sites. We see counts and page paths — never file names, file contents or anything about the files you process.

Advertising

FileWren is free and supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising atGoogle Ads Settings. Ad cookies relate only to the pages you visit — never to the contents of your files, which we don't have.

What we don't do

• We don't require accounts, so we hold no account data.
• We don't upload, store or inspect your files.
• We don't sell personal data.
• We don't send marketing email — we have no email list.

Hosting

This site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request metadata (IP address, user agent) to deliver pages and mitigate abuse. SeeCloudflare's privacy policy.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience utility site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; we collect no personal information from anyone beyond what is described above.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy — for example when adding a new analytics or advertising provider — we will update this page and the date at the top. The core promise will not change: your files stay on your device.
